Abstract :
This paper describes a sample shifting technique for active and reactive power measurement. The associated problems in the process of power measurement using this technique have been discussed here. In order to keep the measurement error at minimum level due to the variation of supply frequency, a PLL based data acquisition system is proposed. The problems of utilizing PLL and ADC in data acquisition system are also highlighted. The mitigation techniques of these problems are incorporated in this measurement process. Matlab based simulation justifies the proposed technique.
