Abstract :
A polygonal shaped printed antenna operating in the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) regulated ultra wideband (UWB) band has been proposed. The design consists of a combination of basic polygonal structure and truncation in the ground plane operable at FCC defined UWB band. The key contribution of this article is a defective microstrip structure (DMS) that creates the notch at the desired WLAN band without disturbing other useful antenna parameters.
