  • Abstract
Advances in inverter design technology have made possible a truly modular, three phase inverter system for protected ac power applications. Although virtually all present telecom loads are single/dual phase loads, the true three phase inverter configuration brings advantages to the user not previously available in single or split/dual phase inverter systems, hybrid, or older discrete component standalone three phase designs. This white paper will reveal key architectural changes in inverter design and benchmark these characteristics against critical AC load protection requirements to demonstrate how they will benefit the user. This paper will also highlight the advantages of a truly modular three phase inverter system over other protected power configurations, as applied to Telco, Cable, and Datacenter infrastructure applications. Consequent savings will be identified in the cost of interconnected AC equipment as well as in ongoing out-of-pocket service costs. Finally, a template will be presented for computing and comparing the Total Cost of Ownership.
