Abstract :
The insulation problem of the conventional electromagnetic current transformer applied in power system is more and more serious. Thus, the conception of electronic current transformer is presented, and the design of the sensor is a key part. Nowadays, it is still difficult for electronic current transformer to put into industrialization, since there are also some shortcomings of the existing sensing technology. In this paper, a new giant magnetoresistance sensor is investigated. At first, the principle of the giant magnetoresistance effect and the structure of the sensor are simply introduced. And then, the output data of the sensor is analyzed, and the static and dynamic characteristic of the sensor could be achieved. Next, some measures must be adopted to improve these characteristics. Finally, a method using this sensor to measure bus current is presented. This research work will be helpful for the industrialization of current transformer based on giant magnetoresistance sensor
