Abstract
This paper constructs a communication model by combining an inference model of emotions and a route decision system. The inference model of emotions recognizes emotions from not only facial expressions but also the situation of the route decision system by the use of a neural network model. The route decision system searches a route from a starting point to a destination which is given by linguistic instructions. Fuzziness in linguistic instructions is dealt with by the use of a fuzzy set. The system sometimes reaches a given destination or sometimes loses its way. When the route decision system loses its way, the system asks the route from the lost point to a subgoal or a goal. The route decision system also expresses its emotions through facial expressions according to its situation by the use of a neural network model. A simulation example shows that the presented communication model recognizes the route decision system emotions through its situation and facial expressions
