Abstract :
A compact, low cost, circular waveguide TE/sub 11/ to TM/sub 11/ mode converter has been designed and built using a scattering optimization method. A far field radiation pattern measurement indicates 98.1% of the output power to be in TM/sub 11/, which is very close to the theoretical efficiency of 98.84% for the mode converter.<>
