Abstract
Network coding is a new paradigm in data transport and promises to change many aspects of networking. This paper briefly reviews the basic concept, fundamental theorem, and applications to optimization of linear network coding. The optimized objectives include throughput of a network, delay, energy consumption, storage space, etc.
