Abstract :
A multi-channel optical source is presented using a fiber Bragg grating as a reflective filter which separates ten channels from a single broadband source. The channels are spaced 0.8 nm apart in the 1540 nm to 1548 nm range, and have 25 dB channel separation. A possible method for temperature compensation is shown utilizing the linear relationship between output wavelength shifts and expansion of the grating length. This relationship was found in simulation to be an output wavelength shift of 1.54 nm per 0.1% grating length expansion
