Abstract :
At present the forepoling bolts of soil-nailed is widely used. A discrete two-dimensional (2-D) finite element model is developed. The contact behaviors between nails or bolts and soil are simulated by friction contact. The displacement of unstable slope and soil pressure on the forepling bolts are calculated by the method. Then soil-arching effect is inducted to discuss the working of principle of the forepling bolts used in soil nailing retaining.
