Abstract
The distribution network of Changsha Electric Power Corporation has witnessed significant progress during past decade. In order to give a comprehensive performance evaluation of the retrofit and construction of the distribution network from view point of fault statistics, fault incidences during past 7 years are investigated and the major cause of the fault lead to interruption of service are analyzed in the paper. Since most fault are temporal and spatial uneven distributed, the distribution of short circuit fault are analyzed in detail using fault data. Thereafter, some possible countermeasures are proposed to improve service correspondingly. Since the countermeasures exploit spatial and temporal uneven distribution of faults, they might achieve reliability enhancement with least investment.
