  • Abstract
A numerical model of shield tunneling is established to simulate the safety influence of the passages of metro-station by FEM software Ansys while shield tunnel being constructed down through the metro-station, and such results as deformation of soil mass, structural stress and strain are obtained from which the new evaluation indexes (slope and curvature) could be put forward. Then, the safety of the passage is analyzed by using such variables as settlement increments, slope and curvature, and the numerical results are consistent with field inspection. All these show that numerical simulation may be necessary for underground design and construction.
