Abstract
The photo-electric characteristic in the new soft optical-electric materials-ionic liquids (ILs) was firstly studied by experimental method. It has been found that the peak power of the optical signal that comes from Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) source to ILs becomes oscillated when an electrical signal is applied to ILs, and the amplitude of the oscillation is dependent on the frequency and amplitude of the applied electrical signal. Also the factors which have impacted on the photo-electric interaction, such as types of ionic liquids, the physical size of the silica tube and temperature, were investigated and analysed.
