Abstract
3´,3-benzylidene-bis-4-hydroxycoumarin (BBHC) was prepared by using a microwave synthetic route in which 4- hydroxycoumarin was treated with benzaldehyde in the presence of ethanol. The formation of BBHC was characterized by IR, 1H-NMR, MS and elemental analysis. Its crystal structure was determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction. Compared with BBHC synthesized by conventional heating methods, there was no isomerism phenomenon in their structures.
