Abstract
An asymmetrically switched class D inverter with a series-parallel resonant tank and a Walton Cockroft voltage multiplier for medium power, high voltage applications is presented. This converter operates in a self sustained oscillation mode above the resonant frequency and is controlled by varying the duty cycle of one switch. A straightforward procedure for designing the converter is given. Furthermore, this paper shows the benefits of digital implementation of the carrier signal.
