Huayuan Historic Blocks in Harbin has shown a decline in vitality and unsuitability of large-scale updates of the surrounding constructions. Based on these situations, the present study is using the method of environmental behavior to collect and analyze the everyday activities of the local residents without damaging the characteristics of the street. Then it explores the ways that can promote the residents´ living and participatory activities from the perspective of infrastructure construction and physical space shaping. An environment behavior strategy of enhancing the vitality of Huayuan Historic Blocks is also proposed.
