Abstract
OFDM-FDMA/SDMA is currently considered as the leading transmission strategy for the downlink of beyond 3G mobile radio systems. When channel state information is available at the transmitter with sufficient accuracy, significant performance gain can be achieved through adaptive resource allocation. In this paper, a greedy method is proposed for adaptive resource allocation that enables to jointly consider the time, frequency and spatial dimensions at each allocation. A comparative assessment with a well-known disjoint allocation approach is carried out and a well-promising variant of the proposed approach has been identified.
