Abstract
IEEE 802.16 standard family enables the convergence of fixed and mobile broadband networks through a common wide area broadband access technology. With reference to the recent IEEE802.16e-2005 amendment, aimed at supporting user mobility, in this paper we propose a scheduling strategy aimed at providing a fair service to best effort users as well as a simple link adaptation strategy to dynamically adapt the physical level behavior to the channel reliability. Numerical results, obtained via simulation, showed the effectiveness of our proposals.
