Abstract
The fast multipole method in combination with a conjugate gradient technique has been used to speed up solution of two-dimensional scattering problems. We focus on a convergence analysis of the conjugate gradient method for the problem of TM scattering by a perfectly conducting cylinder. Results for rectangular cylinders with different aspect ratios are presented.
