Abstract :
The paper tackles the problem from the real-time engineer´s perspective. It analyses, first, AI requirements of real-time control systems, then presents available solutions and discusses their suitability. Finally, it outlines two preferable approaches: advance computations and triggered computations, illustrated by an implementation of the radiation detection system
