Abstract
Distributed artificial intelligence is concerned with coordination strategies of decentralized groups of intelligent computational agents. The paper discusses multi-agent systems and the coordination of intelligent behavior among a collection of such agents. A prerequisite for the communication among independent expert systems is the existence of suitable tools. The paper studies the integration of communication in independent expert system shell environments through a client-server architecture
