  • Abstract
Loss of life of dam failure are affected by several factors, such as population at risk, severity degree, warning time, and understanding degree, while how to judge these factors is a hot and problem to the present study of loss of life. A newly developed mathematical approach, i.e., the rough set theory, is used to research loss of life of dam failure considering the influence of data uncertainty. On the basis of practical examples and by use of rough set theory, a complete procedure including modeling of loss of life, reduct of attributes and decision rules is presented. The model is used to acquire the fastest information fusion algorithm to extract decision rules, which of great significance for evaluation of loss of life of dam failure, human property security and steady development of economy.
