Abstract :
In this paper, the FDS (Fire Dynamic Simulator) software developed by the U. S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) was used to simulate the effect of smoke flow and smoke control for determined geometric model based on the features of underground commercial street. Smoke movement in case of natural filling of smoke was qualitatively analyzed. The effects of the number and the arrangement of vents under the condition of mechanical smoke exhaust were simulated. The results show that fire developed very rapidly in case of fire in underground commercial street; and the arrangement of vents has little influence on exhaust effect, but the number of vents has obvious influence.
