  • Abstract
    To reduce high handover latency in Mobile IP applied between the spacecraft and ground stations, a handover scheme of Mobile IP based on the orbit information predetermination is proposed. The access time for each ground station and the access sequence are predicted in advance according to the spacecraft orbit information and the access stations location information, and then trigger the spacecraft accessing to the most appropriate station using Mobile IP on time. The handover procedure of the data link layer and the network layer is presented, and the simulation verification is also given with the help of STK and OPNET. Finally, the simulation result shows that the scheme can reduce the handover latency.
