Abstract
Correlation functions and correlation lengths for dry snow are studied. Several correlation function and correlation length models are compared with literature-based experimental values. The validity of these models for dry snow is examined. It is shown that the correlation function for dry snow has an exponential form. A new relationship between the correlation lengths and physical characteristics of snow is found. This new formula can be applied to modelling of microwave emission from snow cover
