Abstract
Physical properties on the surface have a close connection with adhesive strength, water -resistance, abrasion-resistance and so on. The properties are greatly influenced by the surface characteristics than the bulk one. In polymer materials, such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) widely used as an insulating material and a dielectric material, it is thought that the surface characteristics are related to the carrier injection from the electrode, space charge distribution, etc. In this study, we investigated the relationship between electrical properties and surface condition in PE film surface damaged by a partial discharge.
