  • Abstract
Using the software DeST-h, the basic room temperature and hourly cooling and heating load of air-conditioning are simulated and calculated for a residential building in Chengdu. The indoor thermal environment and energy consumption of heating and air-conditioning in different rooms on different floors in a building are studied. It is found that the extreme highest temperature in top floor rooms is 30.59°C in summer and the extreme lowest temperature is 7.27°C in winter. The problem of hot summer and cold winter is prominent. Combined with house decoration, improving measures for building envelope structure are proposed. The simulation results indicate the indoor thermal environment is greatly improved, the energy consumption of heating and air-conditioning is reduced significantly, and the energy-saving effect is remarkable.
