  • Abstract
In this paper, different Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) based speed estimation methods are presented for a stand-alone Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) operating in the Variable Speed Constant Frequency (VSCF) mode. Among different MRAS based speed estimation techniques, stator flux based, rotor current based and reactive power based methods are compared in terms of their speed tracking capability during load and speed transients and also with parameter variation. Simulation results are presented to show the performance of each method.
