Abstract :
This paper presents an efficient microcontroller implementation PID algorithm for temperature control of a desktop small volume (about 1000 cm3). 30degC...100degC, 0.5degC, low inertia thermal chamber, and intended for packaged IC quick qualification. In this respect the algorithm was optimized for speed and not for very accurate temperature setting. The thermal chamber uses natural cooling, and the PID control is used only for heating the chamber. The developed algorithm implementation targets the simple microcontrollers having no floating point operation and shows good control performances with easy tuning
