Abstract
This study theoretically argues and empirically evaluates how a firm´s five governance domains impact the level of IT governance maturity and how a firm´s five proposed governance mechanisms impact the overall effectiveness of IT governance. Using data from 20 Emirati organizations within financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing, and public service, this study found robust empirical evidence that the maturity of the firm´s five suggested governance domains greatly enhances the level of IT Governance Maturity. Moreover, this study found robust empirical evidence that the existence of the firm´s five proposed governance mechanisms greatly enhances the overall effectiveness of IT governance.
