Abstract
This paper introduces a new sensorless vector controlled induction motor (IM) drive. The closed loop control mechanism is based on the robust optimal control theory with preview. While, the rotor speed estimation is based on the model reference adaptive system (MRAS) approach. The control and estimation algorithms utilize the synchronous coordinates as a frame of reference. Experimental studies are provided to confirm the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed control method.
