  • Abstract
    A comparison of measurements and simulations on an erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) is given. A commercial program (EDFA-Design(R)) was used for the simulations. Measurement results were obtained during the MSc. project of the corresponding author in the Institute of Telecommunications and Acoustics in Wroclaw University of Technology. The basic characteristics of the EDFA and the operation of the EDFA in a simple WDM system were checked
