Abstract :
A product-oriented method for planning the flexible assembly and a reference model for its control system are presented. Product design, process planning, the architecture of a flexible assembly cell and a reference for its control system are presented. The essential difference from existing reference models is that the model presented is tied to the information processing of assembly instead of the assembly process itself
