Abstract
Technology has been developed over the past decade to permit the blind demodulation of high-order QAM signals in the presence of time-varying dispersion introduced by the propagation channel between the transmitter and the receiver. This technology has been recently extended to address the problem of blind demodulation in the face of interference from a cross-polarized signal. This paper describes the “cross-pole” interference problem and highlights the design of a practical demodulator built to solve it
