Abstract
The spectral response of transmission and reflection characteristics of frequency-selective surface (FSS) square loop array on silicon substrate has been numerically analyzed and the effect of optical intensity on its characteristics has been examined. It is shown from the results that the transmitted and reflected fields of a FSS can be attenuated or enhanced by optical illumination. By employing high speed optical pulses one could obtain modulation performance on these filters.
