Abstract :
This paper introduces development of a small scale microgrid which consists of a PV system, an energy storage device, and a load. The system is intended for conducting experiments to demonstrate and/or investigate different design and control issues related to microgrids. The system has also a data acquisition and power management component in order to facilitate monitoring and management of the system in different operating conditions. Hence, the system can be used for both education and research purposes. Two experiments have been provided to illustrate the flexibility of the proposed microgrid.
