Abstract :
To increase data rate of wireless medium with high performance, orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is used. Recently wavelet transform is a possible transform to generate the sub channels in a multicarrier system. Discrete wavelet transform (DWT) is faster than fast Fourier transform (FFT) hence it´s replaced by transform technique for OFDM so it is called as orthogonal wavelet division multiplexing (OWDM). In this paper we propose a fast lifting discrete wavelet transform (LDWT) technique for both designing wavelets and measure a performance in terms of BER and SNR for AWGN channel. By implementing LDWT for OWDM, It is able to increase the spectral efficiency and also decrease the bit error rate. Performance of BER is evaluated and the design of LDWT based OWDM is synthesized through computer simulations using modelsim.
