Abstract :
Tourism ecological footprint (TEF) model is an important method assessing the sustainable development of regional tourism in certain areas. In order to avoid some shortages of traditional TEF model, this paper proposes an modified model by adopting energy theory, which is named as tourism energy ecological footprint (TEEF) model From the perspective of solar energy, the new model focuses on renewable sources energy and calculates tourism energy ecological footprint/capacity by introducing the energy transform rate and energy density concepts. Based on the TEEF model, it takes 2008 Beijing city as an example to put the evaluation method and indexes system of this model into practice in the tourism environmental capacity research, calculating and analyzing the indexes of average tourism energy ecological footprint/capacity of every person, ecological deficit, sustainability energy index, ecological security degree, etc. which can reflect the sustainable development ability of the target area effectively.
