Abstract :
We present the first experimental frequency-domain channel matrix characterization for optical SDM-MIMO-OFDM systems. Data from 6×6 WDM-SDM transmission over 10×50km few mode fiber confirm non-unitary channel behavior, including 18dB frequency-averaged MDL and spatially-correlated Gaussian noise.
