Abstract
The fatigue of cast steel node with initial casting defects was studied by Finite Element Method (FEM) and fracture mechanics. The defects was simulated as cracks in the 3D FEM model and the stress intensity factor of crack tip was calculated. The shape factor function was fitted by the stress intensity factors of different crack length. The permissible defects size could be decided by the fracture mechanics.
