Abstract
Many methods have been proposed for the computation of the characteristics of microwave components. Among these methods, the finite difference-time domain method (FDTD) and the transmission line modeling method have been used since the beginning of the 1980s. These techniques, based on the numerical solution of the Maxwell´s equations need a relatively large CPU time and memory storage. However, their universality and simplicity made them very useful tools for the characterization of microwave components.
