Abstract
The construction project of an airborne L-band (1.4 GHz) synthetic aperture radiometer was launched in the Laboratory of Space Technology of Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) early in 1997. The instrument will be accommodated onboard the HUT remote sensing aircraft, Short SC-7 Skyvan. The hardware is planned to be mounted to the fuselage of the aircraft before the end of 1998 and the first test measurements of actual targets are scheduled for late 1999
