Abstract :
This paper proposes a dictionary compression method based on statistics to achieve massive poi data´s storage and retrieval in the embedded navigation devices. Then word index and high-frequency words index of the poi names were used to improve the searching speed. Experiments show that it has better compression rate and the retrieval speed meets actual needs.
