Abstract
This paper describes the design, simulation, fabrication and testing of a hybrid and power combiner modules of UQPSK modulator at microwave frequency (8-8.4 GHz). An Attenuator module along with Phase-shifter is simulated and tested to make the device more power efficient at X-band. UQPSK Modulator is desired to operate at frequency for transmitting 100MBPS/25MBPS data. This idea of designing attenuator and phase shifter is entirely a new concept to reduce the size and power requirement. Hybrid & power combiner is also fabricated using micro-strip lines which made this device more power efficient and light in weight. This feature of the device meets the requirement of space applications. The simulation has been carried out in EESOF and simulated results are compared with the Experiment results obtained using Network analyzer. The results are as good as conventional Wilkinson dividers.
