  • Abstract
The Information Age has witnessed the change in the means and goals of residence establishment. Then how can a designer´s professional values adapt to the social development, i.e. what is design, how to design, what to design and t what is designed? The answer to these fundamental questions will make a starting point for the future architectural industry. As an important means to building researches, digital architecture designing can expand the understanding of architecture designing itself, which may further lead to a profound thinking about the designing behavior and values. Designing is the virtual constructing of a building, which entails research, while a building involves objectivity and constructing needs elaboration. Such an interweaving relation constitutes the value basis of the architectural designing. Referring to the term ´Evidence-based Medicine´, this paper discusses the concept of ´Evidence-based Design´ (EBD). However, the concept of ´evidence-based´, first of all, involves the questioning of professional values, before EBD becomes feasible in architectural designing.
