Abstract :
This paper presents an important step towards effective road condition state video-based Web consulting - an augmented video database. Augmented video database is built on top of the commercial object relational database management system where road condition state videos integrated with corresponding measured discrete data, so called augmented videos, are inserted into database as whole. This provides augmented data manipulation, storage, streaming, and organization independence from the database used. Now it is possible to use data organizations that are not supported by the database management system e.g. ontologies. PostgreSQL database management system has been extended to support manipulation of such augmented videos. Augmented video was designed as base database type - augdvideo. It was modeled in a way that facilitates communication with integrated data, effective queries on augmented data, and seamless integration into database.
