Abstract
The authors combine ascending and descending ERS tandem data in order to minimize the errors due to the illumination geometry in digital elevation model generation; this is carried out by using data pairs with large baselines which are less sensitive to baseline uncertainties and atmospheric effects. Phase unwrapping difficulties are overcome by means of a flattening technique based on the use of interferograms with smaller baselines
