Abstract
This paper presents the segmentation algorithm used for localization of iris for the development of robust iris recognition algorithms for biometric process. Iris localization plays a vital importance in iris identification. The method determines an automated threshold for binarizing and determines the pupil center based on a histogram of gray scale image. We present a detail comparison of several segmentation algorithms used in the current iris recognition systems.
