Abstract
A high-frequency link inverter has been developed using a cycloconverter. The device consists mainly of a high-frequency inverter, a transformer and a cycloconverter. A novel commutation method in the cycloconverter is proposed. Experimental results show that this method can suppress the switching surges in the cycloconverter, precluding the need for snubber circuits
