Abstract
This paper presents a new embedded hardware architecture for real-time Electrical Capacitance Tomography (ECT). It consists of different two modules which consist of a capacitance data acquisition and switching board and a Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) board which performs the image reconstruction task. Experimental results indicate that that a throughput of 17 Kframes/sec for the Linear-Back Projection (LBP) algorithm with 200 iterations could be achieved. This satisfies the real-time constraint of many industrial applications.
