  • Abstract
    The concept of safe natural frequency is proposed. The problem of how to determine the safe natural frequency in Z-direction of anti-seismic structure, in order to ensure the safety of the structure, is explored in this paper. By simplifying the calculation model, the formula for calculating the safe natural frequency in Z-direction of anti-seismic structure is deduced. The value of it for two types of typical structure, which is adopted by the anti-seismic design code in China, is suggested. The research results of this paper will supply a reference for structural engineers.
